When compared to traditional gas boilers, which are said to work at around 90% efficiency on average, it’s reported that air source heat pumps typically run at 300% efficiency, meaning for every 1kWh of electricity used, these systems generate around 3kWhs. Put simply, a pump is able to produce much more heat using much less electricity than the traditional boiler, which could have a considerable impact on your energy usage!
